On Thursday, VEISHEA made its third announcement of the bands for Live @ VEISHEA 2011: The Ready Set and Neon Trees. This adds to the previous announcements of Love and Theft and Cloud Cult and The Downtown Fiction and Andy Grammer.
The Ready Set
The Ready Set, formed in 2007, is the stage name of Jordan Witzigreuter. The 21-year-old Indiana native started his music career as part of the acoustic duo Brideandgroom. Before forming The Ready Set, Witzigreuter played drums in several bands.
Pete Wentz, of the band Fall Out Boy, signed The Ready Set to his label Decaydance Records in 2009. Wentz helped Witzigreuter release the album “I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming.” Prior to this, Witzigreuter had self-released an album and several EPs.
Since joining Wentz’s label, The Ready Set has made several appearances on MTV.
The Utah alternative rock band, which formed in 2005, self-released the EPs “Becoming Different People” in 2006, and “Start a Fire” in 2009.
The band began to receive attention when it opened for The Killers at some of its North American concerts.
It also covered Justin Bieber’s single “Baby” and mashed it with “Stand By Me.”
Neon Trees will perform at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines a week prior to its VEISHEA performance.
