Donald Glover will be this year’s VEISHEA comedian. The committee announced it Friday, as well as other acts for this year’s celebration.

Twenty-six year old Donald Glover is an actor, writer and musician. He is most known for the role of Troy on NBC’s “Community,” and he also served as a staff writer on “30 Rock” — the show won two Outstanding Comedy Series Emmys during his time on the show.

Glover studied at New York University’s Dramatic Writing program at Tisch. While at NYU, he studied improvisation and comedy writing with the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre and worked with Amy Poehler and Horatio Sanz. He performed multiple times on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”

Glover is one of the founders of the Internet sketch comedy DERRICK Comedy. He co-wrote, produced, scored and starred in the group’s first feature film “Mystery Team.”

Glover performed in first Comedy Central Stand-Up Special aired in March 2010. He also raps under the name “Childish Gambino.”
