Donald Glover has made a name for himself all over the entertainment industry. As a comedian and actor, he met success with the project Derrick Comedy. The group garnered attention with short but outrageous YouTube videos like “Bro Rape,” which now has more than 8 million views.
Glover’s standup special premiered on Comedy Central just more than a year ago, and he will bring his material with him when he performs in Stephens Auditorium on Saturday of VEISHEA weekend.
He started his career at New York University, where he obtained a degree in dramatic writing in 2006. He was nominated for the Writers Guild of America award for best comedy series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work as a staff writer on the third season of “30 Rock.”
He is perhaps most recognized for his role as Troy on NBC’s popular program “Community.” Most recently, he has delved into the world of music as a rapper under the moniker Childish Gambino.
