To ring in the new year in true Iowa Style, DG’s Tap House will host a New Year’s Eve concert featuring four local bands. Mumford’s, Utopia Park, Cleo’s Apartment, and Longshadowmen will all perform, with DJ Poe Toaster filling in between and after for a “nonstop dance party” until the night’s through.

“We will reach our physical limits as people in our throwdown, 100 percent money- back guarantee,” promised Mumford’s front man Nate Logsdon. “All these bands are just crucial to Iowa music, and if you want to party, dance, get wild or cut loose, DG’s Tap House will be the place to do it.”

Mumford’s plans to debut some new live tracks, as well as a special rendition of “Auld Lang Syne”.  Both Mumford’s and Utopia Park will have surprise guest performers as well. Phil Rabalais of Utopia Park is excited to spend his time in Ames.

“I’m crazy excited about Mumford’s and what they unveil, but also I want to spend New Year’s Eve with the Ames community,” Rabalais said. “It’s so warm and everyone’s down to have a good time.”

Isaac Norman of Longshadowmen is also eager to see his fellow musicians in concert.

“I’m just insanely excited to see what Nate can come up with…he is creative and profoundly deep in what he writes,” Norman said. “I’m going to do my best to make the show as great as possible.”

Doors open at 8 p.m. for this 21 and over show. Logsdon recommends early arrival for the busy night.

“We’re going to put on a show that only Iowa can think of,” he said. “It’s all about representing the community, and making 2012 the year for Ames.”
