Hello and welcome to a very exciting Gamer’s Domain blog! I’m Levi Castle, and for the next few minutes I’ll be talking about the best few days that a gamer looks forward to each year: E3.

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo originally was shaping up (in the fan’s eyes) to be a much bigger reveal than it (so far) has turned out to be. For the last few months, constant speculation has risen that the next Xbox and the PlayStation 4 would be revealed to the public at E3 2012. Unfortunately, both Microsoft and Sony have confirmed to sites such as IGN there will not be any such next-gen reveal at the expo. However, that doesn’t mean that sometime during the show the companies won’t tease something new, so for right now that’s the best we can hope for. At the time of this writing, nothing has been revealed yet, as far as next-gen consoles are concerned.

Or is that really true? Depending on your view on the matter of release dates, the Wii U could certainly be considered as next-gen. In the last few days, Nintendo has announced the revised look of the tablet/controller’s interface, and it has been vastly improved. With button realignments, better joysticks and improved ergonomics, they’ve really listened to the fans on this one. No doubt we’ll get to see more of the console later on at Nintendo’s E3 show.

Lots of exciting games have been announced for the current-gen consoles, like a new Gears of War and a new Forza (at the time of this writing, I’m watching Microsoft’s E3 show; I’ll talk about the rest of the expo in my next blog, as it hasn’t happened yet).

Side note — this weekend is the second Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event. I’m excited and can’t wait to play the game again, especially due to the exciting amount of improvements they’ve implemented.

That’s all I’ve got for now; be sure to head over to YouTube or IGN to watch the live-stream of E3 when you have time.

Thanks for reading.
