If you’re a fan of The Fray’s past work, you will be very pleased with “Scars & Stories”. The alternative rock mixed with piano ballads are all present within this album, but knowing the band traveled the world for inspiration makes the lyrics that much more inspirational and enjoyable.

Don’t let the heavy title fool you. I can already picture myself driving around with the windows down in nice weather and Nada Surf’s new album playing in the background. Even though the band formed in New York, it sounds more like new California surf rock.

As a whole, the film is stylish, slick and suspenseful. The set pieces have been excellently staged, and the action scenes don’t rely on sensory overload, making “Haywire” a genuinely satisfying experience.

Forgettable and underwhelming are the best words to describe Snow Patrol’s aptly named “Fallen Empires.” It’s OK for a band to have a signature sound, but Snow Patrol never developed beyond that.
