With the Passion Pit concert only a week away, SUB has been putting in time to make sure the event runs smoothly. The group has been supporting events like this for years, and changes that have occurred within the past few decades.
Maximum Ames Records will provide a soundtrack for next year’s Valentines Day.

Sam Thompson, sophomore in journalism and mass communication, will soon be changing positions amongst his peers in SUB. Next semester, Thompson will become co-M-shop director with George Potter. Like his brother, Alec Thompson, he works with the film and M-shop committees of SUB, Thompson also wishes to pursue his love of film and immerses himself in the various genres of film.
The local band Holly and the Night Owls has come a long way. From its start with humble Holly Figueroa playing solo show several years ago, the group has grown to become a three-piece band.

When Kim Paul is not doing homework for her psychology major and her five other minors, Paul is scaring patrons of the Haunted Forest as a cannibalistic clown. The Haunted Forest is a 14-year Ames tradition for many Iowa State students and also provides employment opportunities for students.
When Blake Engelby, sophomore in pre-journalism, is not listening to hip hop, he is writing verses of his own. What started as an inspiration from a song evolved into Engelby performing spoken word poetry at Open Mic Nights at the Maintenance Shop.
Rock and roll and energy will be in high supply as The Poison Control Center, Christopher the Conquered and H.D. Harmsen return home to perform at DG’s Tap House this weekend.
